From the Istrian Peninsula, we headed to Plitvice Lakes National Park, located in central Croatia. The park is known for its 16 interconnected turquoise lakes, linked by a series of cascading waterfalls and surrounded by lush forests and meadows. We hiked the trails and took in the spectacular views of the lakes and waterfalls from a variety of viewpoints and bridges.

Upper Lakes
The Upper Lakes are made up of 12 lakes, The lakes hide a rare and valuable habitat - a bog, which is home to some of the most endangered plant species.
Ferry Ride
We had the chance to ride the parks environmentally friendly electric trams, operating on electric power and emitting zero emissions to protect the park's fragile ecosystem.
Lower Lakes
The Lower Lakes, as well as the entire lake system, end at the Sastavci waterfalls. The Veliki slap (Great Waterfall) is the highest waterfall in Croatia totaling 87m.
